One arrested on drug charges in Walmart parking lot

On Monday, January 28th, The Columbia Police Department responded to a trespassing complaint at Walmart on Burkesville Rd., Columbia.

Upon officers arrival, contact was made with a female in the parking lot area, and it was discovered that she was in possession of an amount of suspected methamphetamine. Arrested was Amy Mcelroy, 33, of Russell Springs.



Mcelroy was charged with Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree; Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st offense; and Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess 1st offense.

Mcelroy was lodged in Adair County Regional Jail by CPD officer Sgt. JR Murphy and assisted at the scene by Adair County Sheriff Deputy Josh Durbin.
