Dollie Frances Burton, 86, Columbia, KY (1932-2019)

Mrs. Burton was a member of the Bloomington Chapel Church and attended New Hope Separate Baptist Church. She loved gardening, attending horse shows and spending time with her grandchildren.

Dollie Frances Burton, 86, of Columbia died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Green Hill Rehabilitation and Care in Greensburg, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. David Coffey and Bro. Willard Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Bearwallow Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 3pmCT on Saturday, January 12, at the funeral home.


Born on March 27, 1932, in Adair County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Zack and Emma Susan Willis Burton, and wife of the late Edgar Ray Burton.

Mrs. Burton was a member of the Bloomington Chapel Church and attended New Hope Separate Baptist Church. She loved gardening, attending horse shows and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons, Donnie Ray Burton (Sue) of Mt. Vernon, KY, Rodger Joe Burton of Columbia and Eddie Dean Burton (Annetta) of Columbia; four grandchildren Mark Stargell, Ashley Hayes, Emily Burton and Allison Burton; five great grandchildren and expecting her sixth and three great great grandchildren; three brothers Phillip Burton of Bradenton, FL, Harold Burton (Audrey) of Columbia and Donald Gene Burton of Columbia; a sister Sue Burton of Kokomo, IN and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Stargell and nine brothers and sisters Mamie Cowan, Faylene Herald, Hazel Curry, Tommy Burton, Bobby Burton, Delmar Lee Burton, Edward Burton, Freddy Burton and Dennis Burton.

Pallbearers will be Josh Stargell, Josh Hayes, Ralph Curry, Kevin Burton, Billy Cowan and Tommy Wayne Burton.
