LWC Basketball travels to Campbellsville for MSC Doubleheader

The Lindsey Wilson men and women’s basketball teams head to Campbellsville, Kentucky for a Mid-South Conference doubleheader on Saturday at the Powell Athletic Center, 203 Tiger Way Campbellsville, KY.

The women’s basketball team tips off at 1pmCT, followed by the men’s game at 3pmCT.


The No. 18-ranked Lindsey Wilson women (11-4, 2-0 MSC) continue conference play after defeating Georgetown (Ky.) 66-52 on the road on Thursday night.

The Blue Raiders were led by Reagan Turner who tallied 17 points in the contest. Three other Lindsey Wilson players managed double-digit points. Jynea Harris recorded 16, with Heidi Huffman chipping 12 of her own. J'Nayah Hall managed 10 points to round out the Blue Raiders in double-digits. Gerda Paulauskaite and Molly Stone produced nine rebounds each in the contest as well.

Turner claims the top spot in the MSC leading the conference with 17.53 points per game while shooting for 44.4 percent from the field. Paulauskaite continues to place in the top-10 in the NAIA Division I with an average of 2.36 blocks per game and a total of 33 blocks for a seventh-place ranking for both categories, which leads the MSC.

The No. 7-ranked Campbellsville (16-2, 2-0 MSC) women host Lindsey Wilson after a convincing 90-51 defeat over Cumberland (Tenn.) at the Powell Athletic Center on Thursday.

As a team, Campbellsville ranks first in four categories in NAIA Division I. The Tigers lead the nation in total assists (392), assists per game (21.7), scoring offense per game (92.2), and total scoring offense (1661).

The Tigers are led by Madison Faulkner who averages 13.7 points per game while shooting for 47.2 percent. Faulkner has also led the team this season in rebounding with a total of 95 rebounds for an average of 5.59 rebounds per game. Caitlin Hall leads the NAIA Division I in total assists (122) and assists per game (7.18) for a 2.8 assist/turnover ratio which is the ninth best in NAIA Division I.

Saturday's matchup is the 74th meeting between the two programs. Campbellsville holds a 53-20 advantage over Lindsey Wilson. The last meeting between the two programs was last season in the MSC Tournament semifinals where the Tigers bested the Blue Raiders 90-78.

Lindsey Wilson men's basketball (8-8, 0-2 MSC) return to action after a 73-69 loss to No.9 ranked Georgetown (Ky.) Thursday evening. The Blue Raiders are led by JR Adams with 16 points and a pair of steals. Shakaris Laney chipped in with 15 points and five rebounds.

The Blue Raiders are ranked first the MSC in field-goal percentage defense holding opponents to 38 percent shooting from the field. Fredens Deneus is ranked third in the MSC in rebounds per game, averaging 8.5 per game.

Campbellsville (15-2, 1-1 MSC) return to action after a 54-53 home victory over Cumberland (Tenn.) on Thursday evening. The Tigers are led by Stephaun Adams , who notched 17 points, four rebounds and two steals against the Phoenix.

Adams and Hagan Tyler lead the Tigers with 19.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game average. Adams and Tyler are tied for third in NAIA in total three-pointers made with 60.

Saturday's matchup marks the 69th meeting, with Campbellsville leading the overall series 38-30. The Blue Raiders last met Campbellsville in the 2018 MSC tournament finals, in which LWC defeated the tigers 84-76.
