Sumona Alexander, 62, Cumberland Co. native (1956-2019)

Sumona Alexander, age 62, of Louisville, KY passed away on Saturday, January 05, 2019 at University of Louisville Hospital.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019m at 1pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Burkesville, KY, with Rev. Michael Turner. Burial will follow in Grundy Chapel Cemetery.

The family requests visitation on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, from 5pmCT until 8pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.


Sumona was born on July 12, 1956 in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY to the late Culman and Annie Lee Rowe Alexander.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three siblings, Earl Alexander, Elise Alexander, and Nathaniel Alexander.

Survivors Include:
  • Three Daughters- Tameka Alexander(fiance Carlos Crossman,III) Shuana Alexander, and Chalis Williams(Damon Williams, Sr.) all of Louisville, KY

  • Three Sons- Culman K. Alexander, Cedric J. Alexander, and Rodney Nate Alexander all of Louisville, KY

  • Nine Sisters- Ella Louise Alexander, Leara Woolridge(Gerald), Judy Tooley(David), Lee Edna Floyd, Teresa Legg, Alfonda Harkonen(John), Rachel Alexander, Maurine Wood(Theodore Warren), and Garnita Alexander(John A. Monroe, Sr.)

  • 26 Grandchildren- Joseph Thomas, Senobia S. Thomas, Neon Thomas, Dekota Wales, Cashaye Whaley, Chucob Whaley, Dayshaun Whaley, DeAndre Beecham, Kaislo Alexander, Cullissia Alexander, Kaylee Alexander, Devontae Cook, Keonna Alexander, Romele Baughman, Jr., Zoey Williams, Damon Williams, Jr., Cedric Allen, Lyric Alexander, Jaydan Alexander, Cali Alexander, Cedric Alexander, Jr., Xavier Alexander, Pirris C.
