New Years with the Kentucky Headhunters and Artimus Pyle By Big Al Owens On New Year's Eve, I moseyed over to Glasgow, Kentucky with my friend Crystal Stotts and got to celebrate the new year with the Kentucky Headhunters and Artimus Pyle from Lynyrd Skynyrd. I had the pleasure of being able to hang out with Fred and Richard Young and also spoke with legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Artimus Pyle. It was a great performance which ended up with the entire theater singing Dumas Walker at midnight. Fans were also treated to a legendary drum solo that included Fred Young from the Kentucky Headhunters, Artimus Pyle from Lynyrd Skynyrd, and John Fred Young from Blackstone Cherry. People were dancing in the aisles at the Plaza Theater. We also ran into an old friend Tommy Corbin who is a police officer in Glasgow now. It was a very beautiful New Year's Eve party and many people who were in attendance got the show of a lifetime. --Big Al This story was posted on 2019-01-02 21:25:06
