The dance you feel within

A birthday sonnet for Lisa Comperry
By Robert Stone

Enjoy unfolding right where you are at,
believing that the dance you feel within
will energize your getting out to chat
with caring friends who stick through thick and thin.

Enjoy the many pretty views about,
both landscapes firm and seascapes never still
as daily walks help clear your head of doubt
and limit comfort foods that cravings fill.

Enjoy the challenges that change your life,
too easy said but good advice is hard,
what seems a drastic never-ending strife
in retrospect may be one inch in yard.

From time to time do something from the past
for every skill unused will fade at last.

--Robert Stone, 31 December 2018
