Traffic, Columbia Public Square: add Stop Signs By Ralph Roy Waggener Of The Columbia Square - The streets coming onto the Square should have Stop Signs before the cross walks to help slow down oncoming traffic to the round-a-bout! Keep the Yield Signs in their same places because most traffic pulls beyond the crosswalk when entering. The stop signs would make the crosswalks safer, and help slow traffic at the same time. I've looked at this quite a bit when I come from the Post Office and it just makes sense to add the STOP SIGNS. Mayor Mark got the state to put a white separating line coming onto the Square on Burkesville Street. That keeps both lanes separated while both lanes turning right going around, or to, Jamestown Street. It's hard for drivers to know where their space is without a divider white painted line, I see cars almost run together quite often when making this turn, can't hurt to add the lines back. Just one of my too-many opinions, if it helps that's OK and if not then at least I tried! Thanks, Ralph Roy Waggener This story was posted on 2018-12-19 13:09:23
