The tornado-damaged Cane Valley Christian Church will get a new Sunday School wing when it is rebuilt. The congregation voted Sunday, June 15, to accept the design below for the work from among four drawings by Elizabethtown architect Greg Watson, the son of William Watson of Cane Valley.. If money were no object, some said, they would have preferred the drawing which had two new wings, but, they noted, that can be added in the future. Already, Deacon Jerry Watson said, over $30,000 has been raised since the tornado. Rev. Raymond Martin has been pastor of the church since the death of Rev. N.P. Patton, who was pastor during the tornado. Besides Jerry Watson, others on the church's board of deacons are Marion Smith, chairman of the building fund drive, Joe Rogers, Mitchell Bault, James Turner, and Charles Shirley. Around 80 persons worship at the church each Sunday. Services are Sunday mornings and evenings, and Wednesday nights.
