Columbia Christmas Parade 2018 Click headline for photo album from this year's Christmas Parade. "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." It may be the unofficial creed of the US Postal Service, but it could also describe the hard-working volunteers and participants who helped Columbia's Christmas Parade officially kick off the Christmas season on Saturday. The parade was originally scheduled for Saturday, December 1st, and had to be postponed when severe weather loomed. Yesterday's forecast gave early hope, but the weather never quite cooperated. That didn't stop onlookers and participants, however, and the Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event went on as planned. First place in the float competition went to Damon's CTA and Froedge Trucking for "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer," with Tara Coomer as "Grandma." Second place was the Adair County High School FFA for their float re-creating the Polar Express. Third Place in the float division went to Great Oaks. This story was posted on 2018-12-16 06:25:33
