George Garnett Hayes, 80, Russell County, KY (1937-2018)

He was the former manager of Burley Belt Fertilizer, a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and a Veteran of US Navy.

George Garnett Hayes, 80, of Russell Springs, died Monday, December 10, 2018 at his home.

Funeral services will be 1pmCT Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Coffey and Bro. Charles Edwards officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Friday and after 8am until the funeral. Specical music will be provided by the Crossroads Quartet. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.



He was born December 23, 1937 in Russell County to the late George Elford & Letha Bradshaw Hayes.

He was the former manager of Burley Belt Fertilizer, a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and a Veteran of US Navy.

Survivors are
  • His wife - Lenora Dixon Hayes, Russell Springs
  • A son - Richard (Ellen) Hayes, Russell Springs
  • A daughter - Pattie (Chip) Elliott, Lancaster, Ky
  • A step son - Barry (Karen) Bradshaw, Russell Springs
  • Two sisters - Anna Lou Bryant, Russell Springs; Wanda (Jerry) Sullivan, Russell Springs
  • Seven grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by former wife (mother of his children) Levona Stargel Hayes, an infant daughter, Rose Ann Hayes, 2 sisters, Tresia Higginbotham, husband Gwin, Helen Morgan, husband, Phillip.

Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, is in charge of arrangements
