CU's Clay Hill honored with KY Heritage Land Stewardship Award

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - As the year comes to a close, Campbellsville University is reflecting on the honor it received this fall from The Kentucky State Nature Preserve Commission. It gave the Kentucky Heritage Land Conservation Fund Stewardship Award to Campbellsville University for its supervision of Clay Hill Memorial Forest.



Other awards given were the 2018 Secretary Award awarded to Tom "Fitz" Fitzgerald; the Biodiversity Award to The Kentucky Native Plant Society, Outstanding Forest Steward Award to William and Chris Lagermann of Metcalfe County, KY; The Excellence in Reclamation Award to CAM Mining, LLC; the Environmental Pacesetter Award to the Lincoln County Sanitation District, and several others.

this view of work going on at Clay Hill Memorial Forest reminds Campbellsville University of the honor it received this fall. CHMF promotes conservation by increasing public awareness of the aesthetic, recreational and economic importance of forests and offers science training for teachers and children. The 158-acre educational and research woodland is managed by Campbellsville University as a regional center for environmental education and research on eastern deciduous forests.
