LWC Men's Basketball defeated Simmons 95-61

The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team defeated Simmons (KY) 95-61 on Monday night at Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders return to action on Tuesday night as they take on Boyce College (KY) at 7pmCT at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY.


The Blue Raiders (5-4) were led by Fredens Deneus who recorded his fourth double-double of the season scoring 14 points and snagging 12 rebounds. Kel Stotts also recorded 14 points.

Payton Cundiff added 11 points, while Shakaris Laney tallied 10 to round out the Blue Raiders scorers in double-digits. Pierre Lys helped dish the ball leading the Blue Raiders with seven of the team's 25 assists on the night.

Lindsey Wilson never trailed in the game, leading by as many as 34 points late in the second half. All 10 Blue Raiders who played dented the scoreboard. The Lindsey Wilson bench ultimately outscored the Simmons reserves 42-11

As a team, the Blue Raiders shot 37-for-67 on the night, for a 55.2 shooting percentage, including making 15 for 34 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Simmons (0-7) was led by Michael Howell who finished with a game-high 27 points connecting on 50 percent of his shots while also recording nine rebounds. The Falcons finished the night shooting 26-for-77 from the field for a 33.8 field goal percentage.
