Huffman sets program records in LWC win over Simmons By Chris Wells Lindsey Wilson women's basketball hit a program-record 22 3-pointers in a 104-31 win over visiting Simmons (Ky.) tonight at Biggers Sports Center. Heidi Huffman led the charge with a program-record 11 threes en route to her career-high 33 points. Barkha Sonkar and Maleigha Oldham also scored career highs to give the Blue Raiders three players in double figures. Sonkar scored 12 points while Oldham chipped in 11. Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2pmCT on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, as the Blue Raiders host Reinhardt (Ga.) at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY. The No. 13-ranked Blue Raiders (7-3) led from wire-to-wire, scoring the game's first 14 points. Lindsey Wilson extended its lead to as many as 73 points in the second half to post its highest point total and largest margin of victory of the season. Huffman -- who was announced as the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week earlier today for her effort last week -- hit 9-of-10 threes in the first half as the Blue Raiders connected on 14-of-17 3-pointers in the first 20 minutes to take a 62-14 lead into the locker room. Lindsey Wilson concluded the game shooting a season-high 55 percent (22-of-40) from deep. While Huffman cooled a bit in the second half, she drained her 11th three on her last attempt of the night to break her own previous record of 10 set last season. Huffman finished 11 for 22 from beyond the 3-point arc. While the offense was clicking, the Blue Raider defense limited the Falcons (0-4) to just 13.8 percent (8-of-58) shooting for the game. Lindsey Wilson also enjoyed a sizeable rebounding edge (63-24) while the Blue Raider bench outscored their counterparts 49-2. Lindsey Wilson finished the game shooting a season-best 51.4 percent (38-of-74) from the field. The Blue Raiders also recorded a season-high with 25 assists.
