LWC women's soccer in the 2nd round against Georgia Gwinnett By Benjamin Riegger The 10-seeded Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team squares off against seventh-seeded Georgia Gwinnett in the second round of the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship at 1:30pmCT on Tuesday November 27, at the Orange Beach Sports Complex, 4385 William Silvers Pkwy, Orange Beach, AL. The Blue Raiders (12-3-2) return to action after a 2-0 victory in the opening round against Aquinas (Mich.). Yvonne Ploeg and Emma Lindell each netted a goal to push LWC past the Saints. Emelie Liljered leads the Blue Raiders with 10 goals and four assists, with Sina Cavelti chipping in with eight goals and nine assists. The LWC defense is led by Jovana Ivanovic, who has 50 saves and seven shutouts. The Blue Raiders have posted three shutouts while only allowing for two goals this postseason. Georgia Gwinnett (17-3) defeated Columbia (Mo.) 3-0 in their opening round matchup. The Grizzlies offense is led by Victoria Bischoff with 12 goals and six assists. Elisa Randel leads the defense with 44 saves while producing eight of the teams 13 shutouts for the Grizzlies. Tuesday's matchup marks the fourth meeting between the programs with the Blue Raiders leading the overall series 2-1.
