LWC Swimming defeats Bethel on Saturday Afternoon

The Blue Raider men and women's swimming team defeated Bethel Wildcats with a combined score of 265-65. The Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team defeated Bethel (TN) 138-33, and the men's swimming team defeated Bethel 127-32 on Saturday afternoon at the Holloway Center Natatorium.

The Lindsey Wilson swimming teams will be back in action on Friday and Saturday November 16-17 at the Brenau Invitational at Brenau University, 500 Washington St SE, Gainesville, GA.


Women's Results
No.4 LWC women's swimming team (5-1) recorded a season-high 11 first-place finishes and swept every event at the dual meet. LWC also achieved five A-cut and B-cut standards on the day.

The women's effort was led by Jessica Macdonald, Carlene Taylor and Sloane Smith, who all achieved first place finishes in all their individual events. Macdonald finished the day with an A-cut standard in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:59.29 and a B-cut in the 100 butterfly after finishing in 1:02.27. Taylor notched herself an A-cut in 100 freestyle with a time of 54.98 and a B-cut in the 50 freestyle in 25.64. Smith earned herself a B-cut in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:18.61 and an A-cut in the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.57.

The women's relays also achieved A-cut standards in both events. In the 200 medley, the team of Sarah Hahn, Caitlin Freeney, Sloane Smith and Harlee Smock achieved a time of 1:59.08. In the 200 freestyle, the team of Bailey Seitz, Emma Fenwick, Carlene Taylor and Jessica Macdonald earned the time of 1:43.26.

Men's Results
No. 6 LWC men's swimming team (4-2) achieved a season high of 11 first-place finishes and a clean sweep of all events at the dual meet. LWC achieved four additional A-cut standards and one B-cut standard.

The men's effort was led by Aleksander Olejenik, Michael Peck and Clemens Paetzold. Paetzold achieved two first place finishes in the 200 freestyle (1:56.82) and 100 butterfly (56.10). Michael Peck earned his first B-cut standard of the season in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.83. Olejenik earned two A-cut standards in the 50 freestyle (21.90) and the 100 freestyle in 48.46.

Both men's relays achieved first place finishes, along with A-Cut standards. The 200 medley team of Michael Peck, Bryce Rice, Jordan Schaffer and Tyler Glish finished with a time of 1:44.66. The 200 freestyle relay team of Pedro Terra, Ronald Wolfart, Clemens Paetzold and Aleskander Olejenik achieved a time of 1:31.13.
