Sharon Marie Yocom, 56, Taylor County, KY (1962-2018)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. She was a wife and homemaker, and loved her calling. Her favorite times were those she spent cooking and caring for her children and grandchildren.

Sharon Marie Yocom of Campbellsville passed away at her home on Friday, November 2, 2018. There will be a funeral service to honor her life on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 5pmCT/6pmET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Daniel Lyons will be officiating. In fulfilment of her wishes, cremation will occur after the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 3pmCT/4pmET until time for the funeral.



Born on March 13, 1962 to Verna Keene and Oliver Spencer, she was 56 years, 7 months, and 20 days of age. she had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. She was a wife and homemaker, and loved her calling. Her favorite times were those she spent cooking and caring for her children and grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory:
  • Her husband - Clay Yocom of Campbellsville
  • Her mother - Verna Spencer of Louisville
  • Four children - Christopher Spencer of Louisville, Tiffany Winkler and husband Daniel of Campbellsville, Jason Yocum of Campbellsville, and Ashley Yocum of Campbellsville
  • Three siblings - Deborah Duncan and husband Darrell, Mark Spencer and wife Lisa, and Steve Spencer and wife Dorothy, all of Louisville
  • Twelve grandchildren
  • And a host of other family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son, James Cahill and a brother: Timothy Spencer.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in the form of donations to the funeral expenses. Those can be made in person at the funeral home, or online through the "How Can I Help" tab on our website.
