Battle of Hwy 55: LWC vs CU football on Saturday By Benjamin Riegger The No. 17- ranked Lindsey Wilson football teams travels to Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division rival Campbellsville University on Saturday at Finley Stadium at 1:30pmCT in the Battle of Highway 55. Saturday's matchup marks the 9th meeting between the programs with the series split at 4-4. The Blue Raiders have won the last two meetings by a combined score of 103-61. Lindsey Wilson (5-3, 2-2 MSC) lost against No.3 Bethel (Tenn.) on Saturday 56-30. Jaylen Boyd led the offense for the Blue Raiders with 119 yards averaging five yards per carry. Cameron Wyche chipped in on the special teams with a 93-yard kick return for a touchdown. The Blue Raiders are ranked third in the MSC in scoring offense per game with 40.5 points average. LWC is ranked second in the MSC in total offense per game with 496.6 yards per game. The Blue Raiders defensive effort is led by Trent Mueller, who became Lindsey Wilson's all-time tackles leader against Bethel with 304 career tackles. This game will feature the MSC Blue Grass Division Special Teams Player of the Week, Cameron Wyche, who had 113 returns yards and a touchdown against Bethel. Campbellsville (3-5, 2-2 MSC) return to action after a 31-8 loss to Georgetown (Ky.) Saturday. The Tigers offensively are led by Ormoni Zanders, Josh Davis and Kendon Young. Zanders is the rushing leader for the CU with 530 yards and three touchdowns. Davis has completed 88 passes for 1,139 yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions. One of Davis's targets is Kendon Young, who leads the team in receiving with 44 catches for 685 yards and seven touchdowns. The Tigers defense is led by Darius More and Bjay Pelt. More has accumulated 70 tackles, six for losses, a sack and a fumble recovery. Pelt is leading the pass defense for the Tigers with four interceptions and a touchdown.
