LWC volleyball to host Life University on Friday By Benjamin Riegger The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team hosts Life University (GA) in a Mid-South Conference matchup on Friday, October 26, 2018, at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY. The Blue Raiders matchup is set for 3pmCT. Friday's matchup marks the 10th meeting between the programs with Lindsey Wilson leading the overall series at 9-0. The last meeting occurred on September 14 with LWC sweeping Life 25-15, 25-21, and 25-22. Lindsey Wilson (24-3, 11-0 MSC) notched a 3-0 road victory over Cumberland (Tenn.) on Tuesday Night. The Blue Raiders offense tallied 42 kills with a .316 hitting percentage. LWC used the service line to their advantage accounting for nine aces on the night. Sarah Cruz notched a match-high 11 kills, marking her 19th double-digit kill match performance. The Blue Raiders have not dropped a set in the MSC this season. LWC offensive efforts are led by Cruz (.347) and Elly Burke (.329), as both hold the top hitting percentage in the MSC. Klara Mikelova leads the Blue Raider servers with 34 aces, ranking her third in the MSC in service aces. The Blue Raider defensive efforts are led by Grace Blomstedt and Lilo Larzelere. Blomstedt is ranked second in the MSC with 102 blocks. Larzelere is ranked sixth in the MSC in total digs with 337. Life (9-19, 3-7 MSC) return to action after a 3-1 loss to Cumberland (Tenn.) on Thursday evening. Liz Mann led the Eagles with 15 kills and a pair of aces on the night. Mary Zimmerman chipped in with seven kills and three blocks. Life is ranked third in the MSC in total service aces with 182. The Eagles offensive efforts are led by Mann, who has posted 31 aces and 346 kills on the season. The Eagles defense is led by Mary Zimmerman and Marin Black.
