LWC Men and Women's Soccer hits the road to face Cumberland

The Lindsey Wilson men and women's soccer teams hit the road to face off against fellow Mid-South Conference competitor Cumberland University at Lindsey Donnell Stadium, Lebanon, TN, at NoonCT and 2pmCT on Sunday.

The No. 14 Lindsey Wilson women's team (5-2-2, 3-0-1 MSC) is coming off an 8-0 road victory over Pikeville (Ky.) on Tuesday. The Blue Raiders were led by Emelie Liljered who netted goals in the 43rd and 68th minutes of the match. Kajsa Conradsen, Sina Cavelti, Sanna Svensson, Alicia Thoresen, and Talia Johnson all found the back of the net for the Blue Raiders in the match.


The Blue Raiders have tallied 23 goals this season with Alicia Thoresen leading the team with five goals.

Cumberland (12-1, 3-0 MSC) is coming off a 1-0 road victory over Georgetown (Ky.). Cumberland is led by MSC leading goal scorer, Rebecca Holloway who has slotted 16 of the 45 goals scored on the season. Holloway currently leads the MSC in goals, shots (78) and shots on goal (36) as Mariah Aplin leads the league in assists with 12 on the season.

Cumberland is ranked second in the NAIA in total shutouts with 10 on the year.

Tuesday's match marks the 21st meeting with Lindsey Wilson leading the series 16-4. The last meeting resulted in the 1-0 win for the Blue Raiders in the MSC Tournament Finals last season.

No. 6 Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team (10-1-1, 4-0 MSC) returns to action after a 2-1 road victory over Pikeville on Tuesday. Karim Jouini scored his fifth goal of the season in the ninth minute. Tyler Collishaw scored the final goal of the match in the 42nd minute, his second this season.

Cumberland (4-4-2, 3-0 MSC) returns home after defeating Georgetown 4-0 on the road. Cumberland has netted 27 goals this season with Daniel Williams leading the way with five goals and five assists. CU has three players leading the team with five goals each.

Sunday's match marks the 15th meeting between the two programs. Lindsey Wilson holds a 9-5-0 record over the Phoenix. The last meeting was back on Nov. 11, 2017, where the Blue Raiders fell to the Phoenix 2-1 in double-overtime in the MSC Tournament Finals last season.
