LWC Volleyball hosts Fisk and Xavier Friday Night By Clayton Barefield The No. 6-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team hosts Xavier (La.) and Fisk (Tenn.) on Friday at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY. First serve for the match against Xavier is set for 5pmCT and the match against Fisk is set for 7pmCT. The matchup between the Blue Raiders and the Bulldogs is the second meeting between the two teams. This will be the second meeting between Lindsey Wilson and Fisk as the Blue Raiders opened the season with a sweep at Fisk. The Blue Raiders (20-3, 9-0 in the Mid-South Conference) continue play at Biggers Sports Center after sweeping Cumberlands (Ky.) (25-22, 25-17, 25-17) on Thursday night. LWC recorded 46 kills on the night with Klara Mikelova leading the attack with 13 kills. Sarah Cruz also recorded double-digit kills with 10 for the match. Lilo Larzelere recorded a team-high 20 digs on the night. Autumn Proctor produced another solid performance with 32 assists. Lindsey Wilson continues to rank third in the NAIA in hitting percentage (.296) while also ranking fourth in kills per game (14). So far this season, Cruz leads the team in kills with 293, while Mikelova continues to lead the team in service aces with 25. Proctor leads the team in assists with 596 assists, with Larzelere leading the team in digs with 288. Xavier (17-4, 8-0 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference) visits Biggers Sports Center after sweeping Southern-New Orleans (La.) on Wednesday. The Gold Nuggets recorded 38 kills with a .326 hitting percentage against the Knights. The Gold Nuggets' attack is led by Kayla Black who has recorded 251 kills on the year. Eva Le Guillou leads the team in assists with 685 assists. The matchup between LWC and Xavier is the third meeting between the two programs. The Blue Raiders hold a 2-0 record over the Gold Nuggets. Fisk (3-16, 0-2 Independent) is coming off a 3-2 loss against Williams Baptists (Ark.) on the road on Thursday. The Bulldogs' attack is led by Skye Faucher and Brittany Henderson. Faucher leads the team in kills with 136 on the season, while Henderson leads the team in assists with 416. The defense is led by Ariana Robinson and Cornysia Island.
