Renewal Notices for April and May

From Adair County Clerk Lisa Greer and Staff

As many of our April and May renewal customers have found, the Kentucky Department of Transportation was late mailing your renewal notices (which they do as reminders). We understand that it is now the end of April, and many are just receiving their notices.

These notices are not sent out by your local County Clerk, but by State. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we are working hard to serve you in our best capacity. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

If you have not received your renewal notice, you can bring in the following:
  • One of these: plate number, vin number, proof of registration, or title number
  • Proof of insurance
  • Proof of ID
Reminder: Boats are due in April; you would need your KY# for renewal.

Letter: Signs gone again

Kerry Robertson writes:
I noticed on Friday that the Yield signs are gone again from the Jamestown and Campbellsville Streets. How much money are we going to continue to waste on a solution that solves nothing. Do as has been suggested, and paint YIELD at the entrances to the square although STOP would be more effective. That has to be cheaper than replacing signs once a month.

KDA welcomes new State Apiarist

Frankfort, KY - Amanda Skidmore, of Oldham County, will join the Kentucky Department of Agriculture on May 1, 2024, as the new State Apiarist, Commissioner Jonathan Shell has announced.

"As farmers we can do a lot of things, but replicating the power of bees is one that is impossible," Commissioner Shell said. "Amanda's background and enthusiasm for protecting nature's pollinators will be an asset to this position. We welcome her onboard as she continues our work toward bettering agriculture for Kentucky and the world."

Skidmore's responsibilities include identifying infectious diseases for honeybee colonies and helping to eradicate those diseases. In addition, she will help to educate the non-beekeeping public about the importance of honeybees and offer best advice practice to the beekeeping community.

"I am extremely excited to take on the role of state apiarist," Skidmore said. "Honeybees are vital to agriculture production in Kentucky, and I can't wait to start working with Kentucky beekeepers."
