Columbia Gas Department 2023 accomplishments By Mayor Pamela Hoots in her Annual Review The Columbia Gas Department had around twenty new customers sign up in the past year. We strive to ensure that our gas service rate is competitive and favorable to our consumers. We received a grant for gas expansion from the Appalachian Research Commission. The new gas line will assist with service to the new Franklin Ford location; a state of the art facility, which will provide around twenty new jobs for our town. The grant will also provide for a new regulator station which will produce more service to residential, business, and the school. We are currently preparing an application through the PHMSA to allow for replacement of old gas lines in Columbia. This will be around a100% funded $7m grant.
