Snyder named LWC Assistant Sports Information Director By Christopher Coombs Joel Snyder has been named Lindsey Wilson College athletics new Assistant Director of Sports Information. Snyder returns to Columbia after having served as an intern to the sports information office during the 2020-21 school year and more recently an assistant with Adrian (MI). "I am very excited to be rejoining the Lindsey Wilson family," Snyder said. "I believe that my time as an intern here has prepared me immensely for this new opportunity, and I thank Athletic Director Willis Pooler, Associate Athletic Director Chris Wells and Sports Information Director Chris Coombs for welcoming me back to the Blue Raider family." Snyder is a graduate of Clarion University in Clarion, Pennsylvania, where he received his bachelor's degree in digital media and a minor in sports media in May of 2020. "Joel was an obvious choice to take over the assistant sports information director role at Lindsey Wilson," Coombs said. "His versatile skill set and familiarity with LWC will greatly enhance the coverage of all Blue Raider student-athletes on this campus." While interning with the Blue Raiders, Snyder assisted the communication efforts of the athletic department. His duties included, but were not limited to creating game notes, writing preview and recap stories, enhancing social media efforts, assisting in compiling statistics during games, daily maintenance of the official website, serving as the public address announcer and play-by-play commentator for select sports and aiding photography and video needs at select sports. Upon the completion of his internship, Snyder was hired as the Assistant Director of Sports Information at Adrian in July of 2021, where he held similar responsibilities while also acting as the primary contact for 20 collegiate and club sports through the 2021-22 academic year. In college, Snyder spent four years working with his university's sports information department, covering play-by-play commentator and public address duties for select sports and collecting in-game statistics.
